The urban gateway. Porlamar and Pampatar concentrate the archipelago’s commerce, dining and colonial memory: the San Carlos de Borromeo Castle (1662) guards Pampatar bay and the Conejeros Market awaits its recovery. It is the hub that receives the traveller and distributes them toward the other Worlds, all year.

The San Carlos Castle (NHM, 1965) and the Pampatar historic complex (NHM, 1976) are the Coastal City’s heritage designation. The archipelago holds 12 colonial buildings declared between 1957 and 1979.
